Omega-3 and depression

Omega-3 is touted as an advantage in excellent health for the body. But did you know that it's good for the head? Well apparently so. Studies have shown that Omega-3 supplements are taken; the depression is reduced. The reduction was most pronounced among women than men. In fact, if you visit some of Omega-3 forums you will find testimony on how much Omega-3 complete work to stop and prevent depression.

But to go out and buy the fish oil supplements to cure your depression, lets review some more.

Analysis of Omega-3.

Omega-3 essential fatty acid (EFA) is called because the body cannot produce the and must bring their diet or supplements. EFA you get fish contains fatty acids EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid). Best fish for age are cold fish like salmon, cod, sardines and mackerel.

The body uses EPA, while the brain and the eyes use DHA. In fact you find DHA any location in the body, but in the brain and the eyes.

Studies

The brain is composed of mainly of fat. This grease is made of these fats as unsaturated fats. Age can provide these unsaturated fat in the form of DHA.

Some studies have shown no convincing that the presence of depression is reduced by just DHA. Some believe that a combination of DHA and EPA is required to reduce the occurrence of depression.

Since the 1850s, our diet has moved away from natural sources of processed foods. This type of diet provides large amounts of Omega-6. Some studies have shown that diets rich in omega-6, but low in omega-3 could increase the risk of depression. In addition, other mental health problems could be introduced.

These studies have shown that taking a combination of DHA and EPA, such as those found in fish oil may prevent and relieve depression. It also showed that made fair DHA by itself, doesn't have much of an effect on depression.

Conclusion

Age contain EPA and DHA fatty acids. They are found in water cold-fish such as salmon, cod, sardines and mackerel. These EFAs appear to be good for the brain because it is composed mainly of unsaturated fats. Taking the EPA and DHA studies have shown that it can relieve and stop the symptoms of depression.

If you are taking other medications consult your physician prior to begin a diet of Omega-3 supplement.
